LUNG CANCER RESEARCH

PURPOSE & HISTORY.

Lung Cancer Research was established as a registered charity in 2004.

 

The purpose of the charity is to support the work of Professor Michael Seckl, a world-leading clinician and researcher in the field of lung cancer.

Professor Robin Ellison

Robin is a practising solicitor and academic. He is a consultant with Pinsent Masons, the international law firm where he specialises in the development of pensions and related financial service products for insurers and other providers. 

He is a founder of several companies including Pendragon Professional Information and has authored several books on pensions.

He is a Visiting Professor in Pensions Law and Economics at Cass Business School, City, University of London.

Alastair Meeks

Alastair is a retired solicitor.

Until 2020 he was a partner in Pinsent Masons, the international law firm.

 

He was chair of the Association of Pension Lawyers from 2007 to 2009 and is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute.

He acted in relation to many landamark pension cases, including the ITN case and BESTrustees v Stuart.

He is author of Tolley's Pensions Cases, the definitive work on the subject.

Professor Michael Seckl

Michael is a world-leading clinician and researcher in the field of lung cancer. 

  He leads the Imperial College Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, the Imperial Cancer Trials unit, runs the London Lung Cancer Alliance and has run multiple Phase I-III trials.

He has published over 280 peer reviewed manuscripts in leading scientific and medical journals such as Lancet Oncology and J Clinical Oncology.

 

In recognition for his contributions to medical science and his international leadership he was made a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2017.

Nicci Wyborn

Nicci is a senior pensions consultant with Pinsent Masons, the international law firm.

Nicci has 18 years pensions experience including project management of a pensions de-merger project borne of a multi-jurisdictional corporate transaction.

Her experience related to support for the pensions litigation and the pensions legal advisory team in relation to their day to day matters means Nicci has a robust approach to risk management.

She is an Affiliate Member of the Pensions Management Institute.
